As a female beekeeper, I am thrilled with the Bee Castle 8 frame hives I ordered. They were really easy to put together and weigh less than my current ten frame hives. I didn't have to paint them (they are wax-dipped), which saved me time and money. I am super impressed that I could assemble them alone and quickly. I wish I had ordered a couple shallow boxes and a candy board. Those will be on my Christmas list!

I really like BeeCastle's equipment. The wax coating makes all of the difference and my work easier. I like to build/put together my own boxes and frames. (I'm 78yrs old and still at it.) They never disappoint. However, this time, some knotted wood was used near the ends and when I used the screws to fasten the sides the wood split. I ended up wood gluing and then using nails. The bees are happily installed and don't seem to be bothered. I've always been under the impression that the wood is inspected in advance and knotted wood is not used. Everything worked out in the end.
