I use the screen bottom boards (SBB) on all my hives and I don't use the solid bottom boards. I place Diatomaceous Earth (DE) on the inserts of the SBBs and refresh the DE every couple months. The DE breaks the life cycle of the hives beetle and I can practically wipe out the presence of the hive beetle in my apiary.
I wish BeeCastle would make a SBB for yout five frame nuc boxes, that would be absolutely fantastic. I use the five frame nuc boxes as resource hives, but I'm afraid to trust my queens in hives were I can't help protect them.

the product arrived in excellent condition, and the quality of the product is the same. Excellent. So far so good. We just introduced the bees to their new hive on Saturday. Sunday they were very busy and were bringing in new pollen. We will check on the queen on Wednesday.

These are sturdy, well made and great value. The closure is snug which is important for me as I leave them on in winter and when using OA vaporization, loose or open closure at the back (which seems to be common from other vendors) allows the OA vapor to leak out. So top marks for well fitted and well designed parts. There are no annoying bits of wire sticking out from the edges of the screen. My reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the board you slide in under the screen is made of coroplast or some light material like that. I'd prefer wood. The coroplast will be easier to clean I guess. And it's white which will be helpful for perusing debris, mite fall etc.

Works great! I was getting some standing water with my solid bottom board. The screened bottom board doesn't have that problem.

The screened bottom boards are great here in Florida but why aren't these offered instead of the solid bottom boards? I certainly don't need both and purchasing these adds $40 to every hive.
