Will the bees run away when the queen dies?

When a queen is lost, the swarm does not run away, and generally stays where it is!
The queen bee is the core member of the bee colony, also known as queen bee, mother bee, female bee, etc., the main role is to lay eggs and breed new bees, and can secrete queen pheromone to maintain the order of the bee colony, if the bee colony does not have a queen for a long time will eventually perish due to the demise of the worker bees, the following small series of science will not run when the queen is dead!
  • Colony structure
Bees are typical social and social insects. In general, a bee colony consists of a queen bee, hundreds to thousands of drones, and tens or even tens of thousands of worker bees, among which the queen bee is mainly responsible for laying eggs and secreting queen pheromone to maintain the order of the bee colony; the drone is mainly responsible for mating with the new queen bee and dying after mating; the worker bee is mainly responsible for almost all work inside and outside the bee colony. No individual can survive alone without a group.
  • Lost queen
When the queen is dead, the bee colony will not run away, and generally will stay in the same place. At this time, the bee colony has two completely different outcomes: one is that the bee colony can "breed a new queen" when there are young workers in the hive; the other is that some workers will develop ovaries and lay eggs when there are no young workers in the hive, but the eggs produced by the workers can only develop into small drones. It won't be long before the colony goes extinct.
  • Re-breed the queen
When the queen bee dies and conditions are available, the colony can reproduce the queen bee, and the queen bee is urgently transformed with small worker bee larvae, the number is generally more than 10, and the location can appear anywhere in the nest spleen, among which the queen bee in the strong group mostly appears on the lower edge or edge of the nest spleen, and the queen bee in the weak group mostly appears on the spleen surface of the nest spleen, and the new queen bee can continue the colony after emergence and mating.
  • Worker bee laying
Some worker bees will lay eggs when the queen bee is dead and cannot breed the queen bee. The eggs produced by worker bees are very chaotic, some nests are empty, some nests have several grains, and some are produced on the walls of the nest. Meanwhile, worker bees can only produce unfertilized eggs (egg cells), and even if they can hatch, they can only develop into small size drones. It won't be long before the colony is wiped out by the workers.
  • Remedial measure
1, the most direct way to the death of the queen bee is to intervene in a queen cell, but when the king is too early or too late affect the success rate, the worker bees are easy to reject the intervention of the new king when the king is too early, and when the worker bees intervene after laying eggs, the queen bee is also easy to surround the king or even bite the new king.
2, after the death of the queen bee colony can intervene in a queen cell, as long as the new king in the throne into bees can continue the colony, the advantage is that compared with the intervention of the queen bee colony more receptive to the throne, the disadvantage is that the bee colony to return to normal relatively long time.
3, the queen bee dead can be transferred from other bee colonies into some egg worm spleen, the principle is that the loss of the royal group can use worker bee larvae to cultivate the queen, but the swarm must have a certain group potential and the climate should be suitable, the best condition can be transferred to the swarm into some lid spleen.
